Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on high demand

Zinc prices on Thursday rose marginally by 30 paise to Rs 327.65 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery edged up 30 paise, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 327.65 per kg with a business turnover of 37 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices dropped marginally by Rs 1.35 to Rs 354.45 per kg in the futures trade on Thursday as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for de-livery in May fell by Rs 1.35 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 354.45 per kg in 38 lots.
